Pros and Cons of Skechers Performance Women’s Go Flex

I love the majority of the things regarding this shoe, however there are always pros and cons.

Pros: It’s comfy, cushy, looks great and has very interesting and inventive soles.

Cons: I usually wear a size six and a half in women’s shoes, and normally Skechers are true to size when it comes to their shoes. Plus I have wide feet. These shoes are the right width if I get a six and a half, however, they are too long and my toes have too much space.

But a six would likely not fit due to being too narrow. I saw a frequent complaint from several other people who reviewed it, but found out too late that these shoes also tend to rub onto the back of the ankles and cause painful sores because they are very stiff in that area due to the type of material.  

Other Shoe Issues and Some Solutions

The shoes’ soles are regrettably made of a material that could be inexpensive foam of some kind probably to make them weigh less. However, I am not certain if they will be long lasting until I wear them for a while. Plus, the Gogamat cloth traps in the heat and so I get sweaty feet in this model of shoe.

Besides that, I actually like them so I won’t return them. Yet I may have to put on some kind of socks or put a cushion of some kind to shield my ankles. Later on, I discovered how to shield my ankles.

I got self-gluing foam from the craft stores (black so it matched the shoes) and cut it into squares, then stuck these patches into the edge of my shoes at the place it rubbed my ankles. That helped a lot!

Size and sole issues of Skechers Performance Women’s Go Flex

The shoes seem like they come from a cheap store like Walmart. They are a bit lengthier than GoWalk 3 shoes, so my toes have more wiggle room. The tip on GoWalk 3 shoes is blunter, as well as about a quarter inch shorter, so it jams my toes.

Besides that they fit good, as I believed buying a size bigger would not be a good idea. They fit great all over, therefore, I kept them. I plan to buy more in other colors.

Look closely at these shoes’ sole. It’s made of separated foam strips. Nice thought, however, I will find out if they are long lasting after wearing them a while. The accessible surface area there is regarding wear-and-tear is significantly higher than normal shoes.

If any sticks or pebbles get inside and are stuck, I am betting they will not last long, as opposed to normal, inflexible soles made of one piece. I don’t plan to wear socks when I use these shoes. If I did I wouldn’t have purchased shoes that slip-on. I will write an update for this review after I have worn these shoes for a while.
