Birkenstock Boston Unisex Soft Footbed Clog Review

Though I’ve tried Birkenstocks in the past, I recently decided to try the Birkenstock Boston Slip On Clog. To put it simply, while these shoes aren’t perfect, I am head over heels in love with them. See below why.

After a while, I was happy to discover that the footbeds really increased my stability, which helped me to improve my balance. On top of this, the shoes are incredibly comfortable, the suede feels great, and the slip on style makes them very convenient.

What kind of activities can you do while wearing the Birkenstock Boston Clogs

While I was definitely impressed with the comfort and quickness of the molding action in the shoe’s footbed, I still find the footbeds to be a little stiff. They aren’t uncomfortable by any means, but if you are looking for an extra level of cushion in your shoe, then this shoe isn’t for you. In addition, this shoe was not designed for strenuous activities, so it’s best to leave them behind if you go for a hike in your local park.

While you shouldn’t walk any serious distance in these shoes, they are great for traveling, and socks or no socks, they certainly look stylish. The 1 inch heel really sells it for me, and I still can’t believe how comfortable they are for daily use. The shoes are designed with some extra room in the front and back to add balance to your stride, and each step feels great.

My heel fits perfectly in the pocket, which is a good indication of what size will fit you. If your heel touches the edge of the shoe, it’s not the right size. The way your toes sit in the shoe are another factor to check, but even without a lot of extra space in the front, the shoe can still fit comfortably thanks to the extra wide toe box.

For the Birkenstock Boston to have a good fit you’ll have to do some research

Unfortunately, finding the right shoe size for this Birkenstock was a bit of a chore, though that’s not really the shoe’s fault. Fortunately, ordering from Zappos with gift cards made the entire situation much easier.

With great customer service, speedy and free shipping, plus the easy return system. Zappos is the best way of ordering shoes online. In conclusion, was great for me since no nearby store carried these shoes in particular.

If you want the best fit for the Boston Clog, you’ve got to do some research, and it took me a few tries to get it right. I’m a women’s 9 and I discovered that my Birk size is a 39 regular.

I usually always order from Zappos, but I made the mistake of ordering from a different site. They sent me a narrow, though that’s not what I ordered, and the fit was off. I used Zappos to order a 40 in the narrow and regular. Figuring one of them should fit since the first pair were tight. Then I realized that the first pair were narrow, not regular. So I ordered the 39 regular, and they fit perfectly.

Conclusion about the Boston Unisex Clog – To buy or not to buy?

If you already know your Birk foot size, then it should be the same size for the Boston Clog. With that being said, stick with the narrow unless you have very wide feet. If you find that your regular Birk size is too small, feel free to order a size up. But make sure to order a narrow. A size up in a regular will most likely be too large for your foot.

All in all, I really enjoy the Birkenstock Boston Slip On Clog. These shoes aren’t meant for any type of physical strain. But they are perfect for relaxing around the house, or going for a light stroll around the neighborhood. If you decide to give them a try, make sure you learn from my mistake and order through Zappos.
